Title: All-purpose auto sampler unit for supplementary automation of analytical equipment
Abstract:
A German SME has developed an auto sampler unit, easy to adapt to various applications and measuring tasks. The stand-alone or integrated sampler unit enables the automatic work of measuring setups and analytical equipment and can be configured very variably. The SME is searching for industrial or R&D partners who want to automate their measurement tasks and equipment to achieve a higher efficiency and repeatability of sample handling for technical co-operation.
Description:
The sampler unit is made for the supply of fluid or gaseous samples (Vacutainer). It uses a sample tray and is built very compact. The design of the sample trays is variable and depends on the size of the required sample volumes. Different features like an automated sample dilution in a special dilution position and the stirring of the sample in the removal position are available. A rinsing position ensures an operation free of carry-over. Additionally control valves and diaphragm or peristaltic pumps can be integrated as well as relays for special switching outputs.
An adaptation to different measuring tasks is possible by a simple pulse contact control mode (permanent routines) or by control via RS232 (Random Access Mode).

Innovative Aspects:
With the offered auto sampler unit the operation of measurement setups and analytical equipment and the processing of series of measurement can be automated. So a higher repeatability of sample handling and finally of the measurement results will be achieved. Furthermore the laboratory work can be organised more effectively because by the automation bigger series of measurement (up to 117 sample positions at one sample tray) can be executed. Thereby the dilution function can be used to dilute a sample automatically and to retry the measurement within the just executed series in case of an exceeding of the measuring range with this sample. The automatic production of dilution series is also possible.
